tragedy: A 30-year-old man lost consciousness while driving today (Thursday) due to medical reasons, veered off the road and slid into the Dead Sea with his vehicle - and died.

The MDA team that was called to the scene was forced to declare him dead after performing prolonged CPR.

Another 23-year-old passenger in the vehicle was rescued in mild condition and did not require evacuation to the hospital.

MDA paramedics Eden Milman and Gilad Regev said: "We arrived at the scene quickly and saw a vehicle in the water, and civilians performing CPR on a man who was rescued after being trapped in the driver's cabin. We continued to perform advanced and prolonged CPR, at the end of which we were forced to declare him dead.".
