His funeral procession left Yeshiva Har HaMor at 4:00 PM today towards the Prophets' Plot on the Mount of Olives, where he will be buried. The late Ztz"l was born in Belgium and immigrated to Israel in the 1960s, when he came to study with his rabbi, Rabbi Zvi Yehuda HaCohen Kook, at Yeshiva Merkaz HaRav in Jerusalem. During his years at Merkaz HaRav, he served as a rabbi for military graduates, a position assigned to him by Yeshiva Rosh Rabbi Zvi Yehuda. In 1968, he traveled to Paris, where he taught a religious Zionist seminar conducted by Rabbi Yehuda Leon Ashkenazi (Manitou). Rabbi Zuckerman was one of the founders of the "El Ami" movement and even headed it. The "Ayelet Hashachar" Yeshiva in Eilat was established on his initiative, after he initiated the establishment of a kollel avrechim in Eilat. In 1997, he was one of the prominent rabbis who retired from Yeshiva Merkaz HaRav and established Yeshiva Har HaMor. At Har HaMor, he taught mainly faith classes, and was one of the most important heads of the yeshiva. He left behind his wife, Malka Zuckerman, and 12 children. The obituary published by the yeshiva states: "Today, the 3rd of Elul, we depart for the yeshiva of Ma'ale - the head of Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Zuckerman, zt"l, reverend of our holy yeshiva, after decades of being a doula and a drinker of the Torah of his rabbis to thousands and tens of thousands. The funeral will leave today from our yeshiva, Har HaMor Yeshiva, Aryeh Warszewski 8 Homat Shmuel, Jerusalem, at 4:00 PM, for the Prophets' Quarter on the Mount of Olives. Woe to us, for we have been robbed. The yeshiva, its heads, its rabbis and its students.".

MK Ofir Sofer of the Religious Zionists eulogized: "Blessed is the true judge. The Arameans have conquered the cliffs. Rabbi Zuckerman, a giant in Torah, a giant in stature. The rabbi's unique figure will be missed by all of us, but his Torah will continue to influence and be taught by thousands of his students and followers." Former Jerusalem minister Rabbi Rafi Peretz: "The crown of our heads has fallen. My teacher and rabbi, Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Zuckerman, a great scholar who had great faith in the people of Israel, in the IDF, in the country, and who gave gifts of knowledge and faith. It is so symbolic that he was taken from us on the 1st of Elul, the anniversary of the passing of Rabbi Kook. Blessed is the true judge." Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon eulogized: "I heard with great sadness about the passing of Rabbi Yehoshua Avraham Zuckerman, one of the senior rabbis of Religious Zionism and founder of the Har HaMor Yeshiva in Jerusalem. Rabbi Zuckerman operated from Jerusalem, which was very important to him, and raised generations of students here in the city. We were privileged to have a man of Torah and truth like Rabbi Zuckerman living among us. His unique legacy and his books will continue to resonate for many generations of students. I send my sincere condolences to his family and his many students. May his soul be wrapped in the bundle of life." Minister of Religious Affairs Matan Kahane eulogized: "I heard with pain about the passing of Rabbi Yehoshua Zuckerman zt"l. Unfortunately, I did not have the privilege of knowing him, but many years of practicing Torah provided him with many students who spoke in praise of his Torah and philosophy. On the day of Rabbi Kook zt"l's passing, he was asked to appear before the Ma'ale Torah Court - the rabbi's work and love of his life. My condolences to the family and the Har HaMor Yeshiva. May his memory be blessed.".
