Tragedy at the Tel Hashomer Medical Center: A 12-year-old boy, a resident of Givatayim, died today (Wednesday) at Sheba Hospital, after suffering from a rare viral disease that became complicated. The child contracted a viral disease in recent days and suffered complications from it, suffering from a very high fever. The child was taken to the hospital two days ago while having convulsions. CPR was performed on him in the emergency room, after which he was transferred to intensive care. He was already declared brain dead yesterday, and today he died as a result of systemic failure. The hospital ruled out the possibility that this was a death due to coronavirus, saying that the disease he suffered from attacks the brain and heart, and that this is a very rare event. Dr. Itai Pesach, director of Safra Hospital, said: "Healthy children at the age of 12 do not die suddenly. We still need to receive answers to some of the tests we sent that might help us find an explanation for this extraordinary tragedy.".
