Don't give them money: In light of the progress in negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians in Cairo, Jewish Home Chairman Minister Naftali Bennett is calling this morning not to give in to Hamas' demand to receive money for their men.
Under the title "The 'Money for Hamas in Exchange for Silence' Formula - Political Protection," Bennett published a strong post on his Facebook page.
""In the last 24 hours, it was reported that Israel is inclined to agree to Hamas' demand for funding for its "officials" in Gaza.
""Let's tell the truth: the money will go to the terrorists who dig under us, to the missile manufacturers, and to those who shoot at us. Very simple.".
According to him, "This is essentially political protectionism: you pay us - we'll shoot you later; you don't pay - we'll shoot you now.".
""This is a formula of 'silence in exchange for money for terrorism' and it will allow Hamas to rehabilitate itself and strengthen itself for the next round.".
"You can't fight Hamas with one hand and fund it with the other. That's exactly why Hamas insists on receiving funding.".
Bennett, a member of the political and security cabinet, added: "I am working with all my might to prevent such a decision in the cabinet and I call on my members to oppose this idea.".
And finally: "We don't pay Hamas. We defeat it.".
According to reports, Israel is inclined to agree to allow money to be transferred to Hamas members through a third party.
