Coalition Chairman Miki Zohar informed MK Shlomo Kari of the Likud that he would no longer serve as deputy chairman of the Elections Committee. Regular income from National Insurance? Check your eligibility for a monthly pension today Zohar's move came after Karei had proposed a move to remove Zohar from his position as chairman of the faction and chairman of the coalition. The move was cut short by the intervention of the prime minister. Karei has not yet responded to the decision, but wrote on his Twitter account: "Before the destruction of genius and before failure, the spirit is haughty" (Proverbs 16:18). The confrontation between the two began after the coalition lost the first reading vote on the bill banning conversion therapy, in which Karei was absent after he was offset with MK Elazar Stern of Mish Atid. Karei claims that the offset was approved, while Zohar stubbornly claims that all offsets were canceled that day. Last week, Zohar received permission from the prime minister to impose sanctions on Knesset members who did not comply with the requirements of coalition discipline. Among the punishments he imposed were: a ban on submitting bills until the end of the session, a ban on raising proposals for the agenda, and an obligation to attend the plenary session. Among the MKs punished was MK Kerei.
