Guests of the prestigious Mir Yeshiva conference who gathered at the Avenue Halls in Kiryat Sadegh in the month of Sivan were in for a rare and special surprise: At the center of the artistic program - which was led, written and performed by the grammer and musician Israel Adler, accompanied by Yoeli Diekman's orchestra and the Malchut Choir conducted by Pinchas Bichler - he invited his father, Cantor Haim Adler, to take the stage and perform a special duet with him.
After the son's impressive call to his great father, and to the sound of the crowds cheering, Cantor Chaim Adler rose and stood next to his son, and together they performed a wonderful, ancient and magical Yiddish work originally based on the words of Rabbi Nechonia ben Hakana: "You have placed some of us among the people of the synagogue, and you have not placed some of us among the people of the corners... We run and they run," about the difference and virtue of the Jew who walks to the synagogue to catch a chapter of Mishnah, prayer, sanctification and blessing.
The cantor also composed a "chapter of Mishnayot" for this work, and over the years the work of cantor Mordechai Hirshman prevailed - "These are things that have no lesson... and Talmud Torah against all others", a work that matched the message about the value of the Jew and matched the status of the honor of the students and elders of Yeshiva Mir.
