The Sabbath Struggle in Jerusalem: Jerusalem City Council member Michal Halberstam requests a discussion on the issue of Sabbath desecration in the city.

Halberstam sent a letter to all Haredi and religious council members, calling on them to come to a special discussion, in which they will examine ways to combat the desecration of the Sabbath that is taking place in the city.

The letter states: "In light of the news about the increasing desecration of the Sabbath in the city, which also contradicts the status quo that exists here in the city of Jerusalem, I would like to convene all members of the city council who respect the sanctity of the Sabbath, to discuss the issue and hold a joint council meeting on Sunday, the 8th of Tammuz.".

Halberstam added: "I will ask all members who have information about Sabbath desecrations to bring the data to the meeting, so that we can discuss it seriously.".
