Last night (Wednesday), at around 10:30 PM, a car accident occurred on Rabbi Herzog Boulevard in Beit Shemesh. An intensive care unit crew that arrived at the scene treated a 24-year-old pedestrian who was hit by a passing vehicle, driven by an ultra-Orthodox resident of the city. She was evacuated to the trauma unit at Hadassah Ein Kerem, in moderate condition and in a confused state. Another woman was slightly injured.
Benzi Goldberg, a United Hatzalah medic who arrived first at the scene, said: "This is a woman who was hit in the head and her condition was described as moderate to serious, and another woman who was slightly injured. Citizens told us that the vehicle hit them when they were crossing the road without using a crosswalk.
""I and other paramedics provided them with initial medical treatment at the scene and then they were evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.".
Both women belong to the Toldot Avraham Yitzhak and Toldot Aharon Hasidic sects. One of the injured was pregnant. She was injured in the head and limbs and her condition, as stated, is described as moderate. The fetus is safe.
