exciting: David Biton, a driver for the 'Egged' company who is retiring after 45 years with the company, 10 of which as a driver on the Western Wall line, sent a farewell letter
To the Haredi women who traveled with him every day at 5:00 in the morning to pray at the Western Wall.
""Dear passengers," Biton wrote. "This Friday we are on the mend. It is time for me to retire after 45 years of work at Agad, 10 of which were on the Western Wall line.
""I had the privilege of driving you every morning to the remains of our temple. I feel obligated to thank you for these years, for the honor you gave me, for the gift on Purim, and for the blessings every day and with a smile on your face.".
""Over the years, I have never ceased to be amazed by your determination and perseverance to get up every morning, in any weather, in heat and freezing cold, to wait and travel to the Western Wall to pray for the people of Israel.
""A special thank you to Mrs. Rachel for the perfumes over the years and to Mrs. Levi for the framed blessings that still hang in my home.".
The driver ends his letter: "And again, I apologize if I have offended any of you over the years.".
