MK Ksenia Svetlova of the Zionist Union attacked the appointment of journalist Erel Segal as a presenter on the radio station Galei Tzahal. Svetlova tweeted on her Twitter page: "I'm shocked by Galei Tzahal. Erel Segal as a presenter? Why not Benzi Gopstein? Another excellent reason to continue listening to Reshet B." She then walked back from comparing Segal to Lehava chairman Gopstein. After being attacked by surfers, the Knesset member, a former Channel 9 journalist, wrote: "Wait, Segal doesn't broadcast on Galei Israel and Channel 20? Is someone preventing him? I don't agree with his style and extremist opinions - my full right." A surfer replied to her: "The fact that you don't agree with his opinions - that's one thing. But that doesn't contradict his right to broadcast on Galei Tzahal." Svetlova replied: "He will broadcast and I will not listen, what's the problem? There are people who say the same thing about Razi - each to his own taste." She further claimed: "Sajal's style is vociferous and blatant. His views are extreme and he expresses offensive and discriminatory ideas. There were more successful candidates." She then clarified: "It is the right of every journalist to broadcast wherever he is, and the right of every listener to decide what to listen to.".
