בכינוס בו השתתפו מאות אמנים שנערך ביפו, פנה השחקן עודד קוטלר אל שרת התרבות ואמר: "תארי לך גברת רגב עולם שותק, ללא ספר מוזיקה או פואמה, עולם שאין מפריע בו ללאום לחגוג 30 מנדטים שמאחוריהם עדר של פרות מלחכות קש וגבב".
דבריו של קוטלר גררו שלל תגובות וגינויים חריפים, מכל קצוות הקשת הפוליטית.
חברת הכנסת שלי יחמוביץ' כתבה בדף הפייסבוק שלה: "אשתמש בחופש הביטוי שלי כדי לאבחן שמי שקורא ל-985,408 בני אדם בהמות - הוא בהמה".
