Dozens of ultra-Orthodox Jews arrived this evening (Friday night) near the home of the commander of the military police in Ashkelon.
According to the report, large forces of police and security forces from the Lachish area and the Ashkelon station are operating at the scene in an attempt to repel the demonstrators.
Last time, protesters from the Jerusalem faction broke into the yard of the senior officer's house - a move that drew condemnation from the Chief of Staff and the political elite.
The police said: Lachish and Southern District police officers worked last night in the city of Ashkelon to restore public order, after troublemakers arrived on the street next to the home of a senior IDF officer and attempted to disrupt routine life in the area.
Police forces responded to the scene, dispersed the participants, and the event ended without any unusual incidents.
