Sharon Sharabi, one of the leaders of the struggle to return the kidnapped, announced today (Monday) his joining the Yisrael Beiteinu party.
Sharon is the brother of Yossi Sharabi, who was murdered in Hamas captivity, and the brother of captivity survivor Eli Sharabi, whose wife Liane and his two daughters, Noya and Yahel, were murdered in the October 7 massacre.
Since October 7, Sharabi has become one of the most prominent and unifying voices in Israeli society. From a painful personal and family story, he worked for the return of the kidnapped with sensitivity and determination, and touched the hearts of many Israelis from all corners of society.
According to the party's announcement, as a resident of Alfei Menashe, Sharabi also brings with him a deep commitment to strengthening the settlement and the security of Israeli citizens.
Sharon Sharabi: "I am joining the Yisrael Beiteinu party out of a deep sense of mission and responsibility towards Israeli society as a whole. I grew up on the values of the Likud - the Likud of old: national, state and security. Today, the 'Likud of old' is Yisrael Beiteinu. Avigdor Lieberman is a true right-wing leader, and the only one in the political system who was not part of the concept, warned against the massacre and consistently called for the elimination of Hamas.

Sharon spoke out in the media at the time against the "connection" of Kaplan's protest to the families of the kidnapped.
Yair Lapid was quick to congratulate: "Congratulations to Sharon Sharabi on entering politics and joining Yisrael Beiteinu. The last time we hugged was in Hatufim Square. Today I hug him again and say, 'Welcome!'"'
