The head of the General Security Service, David Zini, instructed the Shin Bet's legal counsel to cease attempts to oppose the proposed 'polygraph law' for senior Justice Ministry officials.

According to the Haaretz report, there is acute tension between Shin Bet head Zini and the organization's legal advisor, N.

N. and his team believe that the proposed move exceeds the Shin Bet's areas of responsibility and will rob the organization of vital resources.

However, Zini - who was furious about the leaks - instructed N. not to present the opposition's position in discussions in the Ministerial Committee for Legislative Affairs.

The bill, submitted by MK Yitzhak Kreuzer of Otzma Yehudit, seeks to require the Legal Advisor to the Government, the State Attorney and their deputies, as well as all employees of the Advisory and Legislative Division - to undergo a polygraph test once every two years.

The purpose of the inspection, which will be carried out by the Shin Bet, is to prevent leaks to the media.

According to MK Kreuzer, the move is necessary due to "constant leaks" and is intended to increase public confidence in the judicial system.

According to the report, despite early statements that the investigation may be transferred to the police, the current version of the proposal still assigns the task to the Shin Bet.
