This morning, during an operation by the traffic police of the Judea Region of the Shi'ite District on Highway 60 near Beit HaBaraka, a vehicle was stopped for inspection, during which it was revealed that the driver, a 22-year-old Palestinian resident of Samaria, had never held a driver's license.
Following this, the traffic police conducted an inspection of the vehicle and, to their surprise, a Palestinian passenger (16) was found lying in the trunk in the back, which is not intended for transporting passengers due to the lack of a seat and seat belt and the danger inherent in this. In addition, a check of the validity of the vehicle license found that it had already expired in 2023.
A traffic law proceeding was initiated against the suspect driver and he was summoned to court for a hearing. In addition, the vehicle was banned from use due to safety deficiencies and, following a hearing conducted by a police officer, the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
