Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asked not to testify in the next two weeks at his trial - which is expected to resume early next week.
Netanyahu's defense attorney, Attorney Amit Hadad, explained that "due to classified security and political reasons, naturally related to the dramatic events that have taken place in Israel and throughout the Middle East in recent times, the Prime Minister will not be able to testify for at least the next two weeks.".
The head of the panel of judges, Rivka Friedman Feldman, wrote that the State Attorney's Office will be asked to submit its response by this coming Sunday at 9:00 AM.
Netanyahu's defense attorney noted that a sealed envelope containing the classified reasoning was delivered by a special envoy to representatives of the prosecution, and will be forwarded to the court secretariat on Sunday.
He requested that four hearings be canceled in practice.
