As part of preparations for expanding military operations in the central camps and Gaza City, the IDF decided today (Friday) to cancel the daily humanitarian truce.
The statement issued by the IDF spokesman stated: "In accordance with the assessment of the situation and the directives of the political echelon, starting today, the tactical-local ceasefire in military activity will not apply to the Gaza City area, which constitutes a dangerous combat zone.".
""The IDF will continue to support the humanitarian effort in the Gaza Strip, in parallel with the continuation of maneuvers and offensive activity against the terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip, with the aim of protecting the security of the citizens of the State of Israel.".
A month ago, under the auspices of increasing international pressure on Israel and Hamas' "starvation" campaign, the political echelon announced a local tactical ceasefire in Gaza City, the central camps, and the Mu'assi area for ten hours every day.
At the beginning of next week, a cabinet discussion will be held and tens of thousands of reserve soldiers will be mobilized who were called to re-stand with the expansion of the ground maneuver to occupy Gaza City.
