Following the wave of arrests of ultra-Orthodox defectors: Senior IDF officials met in recent days with Rabbi Chaim Aharon Kaufman, who heads the 'Yeshiva Committee' - the ultra-Orthodox umbrella organization that works with the army, in an attempt to calm things down.

According to a report by Akiva Weiss in Makor Rishon, a source familiar with the details says that "both sides are trying to calm things down and understand that no one is interested in reaching a breaking point between the army and the Haredi sector.".

The houses of the rabbis have begun organizing for the "Millionth Demonstration," following the arrests of yeshiva students. At this stage, a decision has not yet been made regarding the date of the demonstration, and the houses of the rabbis are currently waiting to see if the arrests will continue.

A source at the Rabbinate told Makor Rishon: "Currently, they are trying to reach an agreement with the army, which is why the million-strong demonstration has not been announced. If the arrests continue and there is no dialogue with the army, the likely date for the demonstration is next Thursday, the eve of Rosh Chodesh Elul.".

"This is a large logistical setup for implementing the huge demonstration, and therefore preparations have already begun, but we are awaiting final approval from Israel's top leaders.".
