The B network reported this morning (Monday) that among those arrested were two American citizens.
According to the report, at least 35 members of the Jewish community across Iran were detained for questioning on suspicion of ties to Israel following the war.
In recent days, 11 Jews have been released from detention in Iran, bringing the number of Jews detained since the conflict between Israel and Iran to five.
One of the American citizens arrested is a Jew of Iranian origin who lives in Los Angeles and came to visit relatives in Iran. He was released on bail in recent days. The other Jew is an Iranian who left Iran for New York 30 years ago and came to visit relatives - but is still in custody.
"The two arrived at the wrong place at the wrong time," described a source involved in the efforts to release them.
The authorities' move is unusual and was carried out as part of the mass arrest operation within Iran, including among minorities, on suspicion of collaboration with Israel.
The ayatollahs have tried to prove over the years that they allow freedom of worship and do not persecute Jews in their territory, but it seems that since the defeat at 'Am Kalavi', things have changed.
