An officer and a soldier from the Golani Patrol were killed yesterday (Saturday) in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip from the explosion of an explosive device attached to a Merkava armored personnel carrier.

Fast track or regular track: will you decide how to receive your money?

The fallen are Captain Amir Saad, 22, from Yanuch-Jath, a technology and maintenance officer in the Golani Patrol, and Sergeant Yinon Noriel Vana, 20, from Kiryat Tivon, a technology and maintenance fighter in the Patrol.

Another soldier was moderately injured in the incident, in which the NMR caught fire.

Amir Saad is the second in the family to die in the war, and the third from Yanuh Jat.

According to a report in 'Kan News', the incident occurred yesterday around 6:30 PM, in the Abbasnim neighborhood in eastern Khan Yunis. Terrorists who apparently came out of a well managed to get very close to a Nimr armored personnel carrier and attach an explosive device to it.

The force of the explosion killed the two soldiers, who had entered Gaza to handle the tools.

The terrorists threw another explosive device at another armored personnel carrier carrying soldiers and officers from the Golani patrol, but the device did not explode and no one was injured.

The IDF has been in operational control of the Abbasnim neighborhood for several months, and despite this, terrorists managed to emerge from the destroyed and damaged buildings, launching a planned and organized attack on two vessels simultaneously.

898 IDF soldiers have fallen since the beginning of the war.

Captain Amir Saad's cousin, Raad, spoke about him in an interview with the program 'Kalman Lieberman' on the B network: "He's a smart kid, smart. Still in the regulars. His father is a man of honor, a good family. Amir wanted to advance in the army, our whole family are security personnel."

"Two days ago he received the rank of lieutenant," Raad said. "He loved the army and loved working for the army. Yesterday we received the bitter news. It was only on Thursday that I sent him a message, congratulating him on the rank."

Captain Amir Saad's funeral will be held today at 5:00 PM.
